In Uganda, millions of girls are married off by their parents or because of tough situations before the age of 18, putting their health and well-being at risk. We champion community-led efforts to ensure that girls and young women can create their own futures.
What we do
Shirl Girls Foundation Ltd is a community-based nonprofit organization in Entebbe, Uganda.
We are dedicated to empowering elderly women, single mothers, teenage mothers, and disadvantaged women by restoring dignity, strengthening livelihoods, and creating long term opportunities for economic independence. We believe every woman deserves a chance to thrive and every child deserves a future filled with hope.
Food and Household support
Many families struggle to meet basic needs. We provide food packages, children’s clothing, shoes, and other essential household items to support families during difficult periods.
Skills Development Program
We offer practical training that enables women to gain employable skills or start small businesses. Areas of training include tailoring, crafts, hairdressing, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Graduates receive mentorship and opportunities for start-up support.
Child Education
Every child deserves an education. We offer school fees support as well as scholastic materials, including books, pens, uniforms, and other essentials to keep children in school.
